What people are saying about us!

“Hello Jon, I want to say a big thank-you to you. Our recent stay at your residence in Penna San Giovanni was most enjoyable. The house description was very accurate and lived up to our expectations. The character features, fine comfortable decor and view from the balcony all added to our relaxing evenings follow the challenging local hills. We will defiantly stay at your house again and recommend it to friends and family. Regards,

Jamie Sanderson, Cheltenham, UK.

“Casa Liozzi is lovely and the village of Penna makes a great base for a training week. The ride down to Sarnano was done several times and is just fantastic, and can be the start of rides up into the mountains or valley rides back to the bottom of the hill up to Penna. We went for the roads above the valleys as the all round views were just breathtaking. April weather was not as hot as we expected, but was loads better than the UK and was sunny, so made ideal riding conditions. The last cobbled hill to the house is steep enough to finish the legs off completely, making a cold beer on the balcony the only reasonable response. The house is comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Paolo’s place does all you need for a meal out and is just a short walk.

“We rented the house in may and had a really nice relaxing week. Great weather and made the most of the beach and the mountains too, cant wait to go back for more wine and Pizza!

The house is fantastic, you know you’ve arrived in a lovely area of the world when you walk out onto the balcony with its beautiful view overlooking the Sibillini Mountains ! It has been renovated to a high standard but still retains that historic charm. The Village (Penna) is also splendid and has a lovely pizzeria (Paolo’s place) which is so cheap and great for refueling after a long day in the saddle.

The area is great for cycling and visiting lots of rustic charming italian villages. Close by is Macerata for the opera and Lago di Fiastra for sunny some lake swims.

The owner Jon,  is a splendid friendly chap and will ensure you have a lovely holiday.”

Penna San Giovanni is the perfect location to be based for some serious training, whilst also being perfectly suited to more leisurely riding and a holiday and during our stay we managed to combine all three! The riding is fantastic, with very quiet roads, beautiful scenery and some great climbs, but don’t worry if you’re not a mountain goat, there are some flatter options too. However be prepared for at least one climb because Penna San Giovanni is built on top of a hill, as are most of the medieval towns in the area. The small town has everything you need whether you are buying food in for self catering or fancy a local restaurant, the local residents are very friendly and you will be truly immersed in the Italian culture. Casa Liozzi (the house) is a great place to stay with the thick stone walls keeping the building cool in hot weather and amazing views from the balcony over the valley below. Highly recommended!!
