9 – 16 May 2012 (Wednesday to Wednesday)

Wow, what a week we have in store for this one!  Arrive on the wednesday and get settled in, a ride on the thursday to get used to the area and the wonderful roads we have and then BANG!..

Friday we have stage 6 of the Giro from Urbino to Porto Sant’Elpidio, it could be Cav, it could be Guardini, but looking at the route it could be anyone!  We will build our ride into this one too and really soak up the atmosphere, the caravan and pre race build up. On saturday, the Giro really does come to us, we are under an hours ride on roads which will be come very familiar as we take in stage 7 in Sarnano, another medium mountain stage. Check out the stage details on the Gazzetta website here.

Then on sunday we ride the Gran Fondo Terre dei Varano, a beautiful event, very isolated, set within the national park and based around the medieval university town of Camerino makes this a special event.

The event promises to be very special with the inclusion of the fabled Sassotetto climb.  You will be very familiar with this one during your stay at Casa Liozzi, as you will see it every day from the balcony and now get the chance to ride it in a fantastic event.  Full details including route map, gradients and distances can be found here.
